Flood Stopper system is a system designed to prevent the flooding of a building due to reverse flow from the sewer line. This situation occurs when the city sewer system is severely overloaded during an extreme storm situation. Reverse flow then forces flood water back through the residential sewer lines and thus flooding basements. This happens very rapidly and cannot be stopped once it starts, the devastation can be extreme. Flood stopper is a main line back flow device that is installed in the sewer line. The unit switches automatically to a full closed position when reverse flow conditions happen. The device remains closed until the back pressure is relieved and the flood condition subsides.
